• I have a private blog that my readers need to register for. I use the Absolute Privacy plugin.

It has come to my attention that my site’s content is available via the WP reader. I’m not happy about this. Is there any way to disable it?

I’m calling it ‘reader’ but I’m not sure if that’s the official name. But it’s the subscription option that allows you to receive new posts by email. I know I can’t modify users, which is why I’d rather disable it entirely. Is there a way to see who my subscribers are?

But mainly, I would like to know how to disable it. I don’t see any way to do this under Settings.

    Can anyone help? Thanks!

Is this the plugin in use? :

If not, please list the plugin provider.

    Yes, Pioneer.

Unfortunately, that plugin has not been updated in some time and it is not noted to be compatible with current version of WordPress:

    Compatible up to: 3.6.1
    Last Updated: 2013-9-11

You can try their support page here:

    but:

0 of 2 support threads in the last two months have been resolved.

It appears this plugin has been abandoned by the developer.

Thanks — but, to be clear, this isn’t a plugin-related issue I’m having. Because even without the plugin my posts would auto-publish to the WP subscription email option.

I want to know how to turn off the WordPress reader. Like, when people use their WordPress.com accounts to subscribe to a blog, they have the option of receiving those new posts by email.

    WordPress.com > [Reader button] > Blogs I Follow

There is an option to receive new posts by email. I want to turn that feature off. Is that possible? (Does what I’m asking make sense now?)

    Thanks!

Does what I’m asking make sense now?

Can you please provide us a link here that demonstrates the problem?

I moved my blog a couple of months ago from wordpress.com to self host www.remarpro.com. I disabled the “like” option on my posts since there was no option to move likes. I moved my followers, and my posts still shows up in the wordpress.com reader. The problem I’m having is that there’s an option to “like” my posts right from the wordpress.com reader (even though I’ve disabled the “like” option on my post) and I’m not able to see who is “liking” my posts. The comment option is not showing up in the reader which is the feature I’m actually using. My preference will be to only have my posts show up in the reader (which I’ve chosen only shows a summary) with no option to “like” from there and if my followers decide to read my post they will actually have to visit my website instead of just clicking the “like” button (which I have no way of seeing who the “likers” are). So far I’ve had to enable the “like” feature in jetpack settings in order to see who the “likers” and disable it again each time which is annoying. Please help!

    Thanks

    Shaaz
