• I installed several plugins from GaMerZ. I believe one of them made it so the CSS in other plugins doesn’t work, specifically share-this 1.4, Spotmilk and sem-admin-menu. (Admittedly, I may have tried to activate one of the GaMerZ plugs before the Plugins page refreshed.)

I deleted the GaMerZ plugs and still the others’ CSS doesn’t work.

Anyone else seen something similar? If so, what’s the fix? Is there one? Re-install WP?

    Thanks in advance.

  • did u try on the default theme to see if it works? It will not break Share This as I seen people running my plugins before. I got a feeling is the admin-menu or spotmilk

CSS for share-this 1.4, Spotmilk and sem-admin-menu are broken with the WP deafult theme, too.

What could be happening with your plugins that would make it so style sheets break in other plugins?

    Thanks!

52novels, refresh your page or clear the browser cache. Browsers tend to hang on to css and js files if cached.

If you really want to find out what’s breaking it, get FF with Firebug, right-click on the broken part and select “Inspect Element”, then disable the css selectors one by one until you find the bad one.

my plugin simply includes its own stylesheet and javscript file on top on whatever it is loaded. The only plugin I know that conflict with the stylesheet is only wordspew. The rest should be working fine.

asaozz: Refreshed and cache cleared several times. Thanks for the Firebug tip. I’ll give that a try.

    GamerZ: Thanks for your help.

Using Firebug, if I expand the link to the style sheets for share-this or admin-menu, I see the html code for the page and not the css for the plugin.

How is it possible that this happens? That doesn’t make sense to me.

When you “Inspect element” in Firebug, you see the html on the left and the css that is applied to it on the right. Clicking in front of the css disables the styles one by one. It also shows from which file the style was loaded.

    give me your site URL

azaozz: I see how what you’re describing works. But I what I was referring to happens on the left pane.

When I find the link to the style sheet on the left and expand the line to reveal the style, it opens and shows the HTML. Expanding that should open and show the CSS. At least that’s what it does on another site I have.

BTW, here are URLs you can compare.

https://52novels.com … this is the one that’s broken.

https://elephinocreative.com … this has the same admin menu plug.

and u have not tell me what plugin breaks it.

I couldn’t tell you which one it was. I installed several (dbmanager, email, pagenavi, and postviews). What I know for certain is that share-this 1.4, Spotmilk and sem-admin-menu worked before I installed yours.

Holy cow… that sounded terrible. I’ve been sick all weekend. My apologies.

??? I am not sure about spotmilk or sem-admin-menu, but I can confirm that share-this work, so you have to try deactivating the plugins 1 by 1 to find the conflicting plugins using the default theme.

I’ll give that another try. Thanks!
