• Hello Everyone,

I’m sure there’s a way of achieving this, just need someone to point me in the right direction…. (here goes)

    WordPress is installed.

I have a homepage with some text on it.

I want to have a second page, where you can actually edit that same text and click “save”

The text on the homepage is instantly updated to match the text on page 2.

I don’t want to do this through WordPress admin, instead just on the front end part of the site.

    What do you think?

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts peeps.

    1. Why?
    2. No, there is no “front-end” editing.

Hi, thanks so much for this information. It’s understood.

I’ll explain my goal and perhaps you’ll have some thoughts on how I might acheive it.

The reason I was interested in creating pages where users could edit the site content is because the WordPress Admin interface doesn’t quite suit my needs.

I need to adjust wordpress so when a user logs on, there is a very very simple interface that offers you only a few limited specific choices.

I want these choices to be:

The user can swap one picture for another,
    Change 1 piece of text,
Add a new row in a html table, plus edit its content

    And That’s It!

And these choices need to be presented in a simple and clear way.

I’ve used wordpress before, I’ve designed themes from scratch, but this is actually adjusting the admin interface and that, at present, is beyond me and scares the bejesus out of me.

    Speak kindly to me brothers!

    Much a appreciated.

Ok, on further research it seems to me that what I’m going to have to do is go through the WP-admin folder and change each file to suit my needs.

    To recap I want.

A simple limited interface that allows the user ONLY to:

    Edit 1 paragraph of text.
    Swap 1 photo for another.
Add and remove rows from a table and edit them

I’ll work on these on and individual basis and keep coming back to you to try and source your knowledge on each one.

In the meantime, anyone got any initial thoughts on where I could start?
