    Hi there

I’m having a problem with using the plugin. Installation seemed to go fine, I was able to register and test the QR code that was generated. The problem I have is that after I set “Activate two factor authentication” to enabled and attempt a logon. I enter my username and password but I never get a chance to enter my code, I just get taken back to the logon page with “Error: The one-time password (TFA code) you entered was incorrect.” written in a red box.

I know my username and password are good (ive tried entering just the code.

    Any suggestions?

    I would appreciate your help

    Thanks in advance

    Gary

    Hi Gary,

This suggests that some other component on the site has a javascript error, which stops the browser’s javascript interpreter from running the TFA plugin’s javascript.

    Do this:

    1) Open your web browser’s developer console (usually Control-Shift-J). Press the button to clear it of existing entries
    2) Visit your WP site’s login page
    3) Take a screenshot of the developer console, and post it – e.g. using https://snag.gy

Thank you for your reply, I will look to post it tomorrow night. Indecently up until now I have only been testing with my master admin account. I created another user account today (editor) and enabled two factor for that account and it works perfectly.

Is there a restriction on using it with the master account?

    Thanks again for you response.

    Hi,

Is there a restriction on using it with the master account?

By the master account, do you mean an admin account? Or super-admin on a WP network? Either way, it’s meant to work (and generally does – but obviously not in your site, for some reason yet to be got to the bottom of!).
