Installation Error… even before I get to the install.php page

    I modified my wp-config-sample.php and uploaded the wp files to an empty directory on my host server.

    i attempted to go to the install.php page in firefox 2.0.0.6
    to set up the blog and received this error:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: did_action() in /ijoarts/reckon/wp-includes/functions.php on line 1356

    I opened up function.php in Dreamweaver and this is line 1356 and line 1357:

    if ( !did_action(‘admin_head’) ) :
    header(‘Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8’);

    I read through both of the links. I am already familiar with ftp protocals etc. the one thing I did differently was to edit the wp-content-sample.php file in Textedit instead of dreamweaver.

    At any rate I even tried downloading version 2.2.1 with the idea that perhaps my download was corrupt. I chose this so that I try an entirely different install package.

    I am working on a Mac using OS X ver 10.4.10
    I am uploading with Fetch version 5.1

    upon attempting to access install.php this is what I got:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: did_action() in /reckon/wp-includes/functions.php on line 1345

    has anyone seen this specific kind of error before? Any

    you did rename the file to just wp-config.php right?

    that’s about all i can think of….it says you modified that file, but did you rename it?

    you know… back when I was doing tech support for a big computer company my first question would alway be “is your computer plugged in?”

    renamed as

    wp-config.php
