Password reset error – unwanted character in the link
-
I have the “Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid.” problem.
What is strange, that this behaviour seems to connect to the mail servers, or how they interpret the recieved mail. If I test it with my gmail test-user, then the password reset works. If I try it with an other I have the issue.
The two mails get two different messages, the difference is very small, but it ruins the link.
With gmail received mail: everything is ok.
With the other mail (this time freemail.hu, but some users from other countries had difficulties as well) I get this row:
<https://www.MYSITE.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=STnkCXZ4HIOBfDNL048S&login=USERNAME>;with google this would be the following:
<https://www.MYSITE.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=STnkCXZ4HIOBfDNL048S&login=USERNAME>
so without the “;” at the end.AND with freemail the link itself is this part:
https://www.MYSITE.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=STnkCXZ4HIOBfDNL048S&login=USERNAME>
here at the end you get an unwanted “>”with gmail you get this without the “>”
what works and redirects.So is there anywhere a solution for this behaviour? Is it a problem with wordpress itself?
Thank you.
(We tried to solve it on chat with bluehost. We disabled all plugins, switched the theme and the error remained.)
