• Since my upgrade of 2.0.2 to 2.2 failed (no response to query here as to the problem), I’m wondering if I can install a 2d blog on my same server space/account–i.e. do a new install of 2.2 parallel to 2.0.2 and keep both running, at least temporarily? (The control panel on my server space installs 2.0.2 instead of the current version.)

(My upgrade won’t load upgrade.php and gives an error re. wp_cache_init()

Thanks. That’s the info I need.

What happens if I do a new install and use the same config info as an existing blog? Chaos? Or does it simply pick up the data from the first blog and enter it in the second on (i.e., same users, posts, etc.)?

    Chaos?

Pretty much, since your site and home urls are stored within the database.

You can use the same config, but it’s recommended that you use another prefix ( the defualt one to look for is wp_ ) – to avoid that chaos you mention.
