BackWPup Free Issue on SiteGround servers

Thanks to the valuable help of Daniel Hüsken, we come out with a temporary work-around that involved to commented out line 1199 in wp-content/plugins/backwpup/inc/class-job.php

# echo ' ';

Then the backups should be created without errors.

In future BackWPup release (3.2), this would be fixed permanently.

Hey just want to say thanks to you both. Client site is hosted on Siteground.com & been getting backup errors (ERROR: Signal 15 is sent to script!) for the last couple of weeks and this fixed it for me. Client happy again and me too ??

Was just looking for why a site on siteground was failing. Thanks for looking into it, any idea on an update that doesn’t involve hacking up the plugin core? Thanks!

Kramarz, we verified that following the steps from the following thread:

the issue should be resolved.

If you, however, could not get rid of the “Signal 15” errors, please submit a new support ticket and my colleague of the Technical Support will configure the plugin on your behalf.

Thanks. For now I commented out that 1199 line as suggested above. Will check re: PHP version solution as well.
