Can login to wordpress but not my website

    I have not updated my website for over a year and on trying to access it today – am unable to. I have Tried to request a new password via my site page – but it does not recognise my username or email.
    However I receive email notifications from wordpress daily for this site.
    I went to wordpress directly from a search engine and asked for a password reset, which came to my inbox.
    I can now access my WordPress profile, but this password and username does not let me access or log in to my website.
    Thank you for your advice and support.
    ps
    I do not know which version of wordpress I am using – as I haven’t been on my site for between 1-2 years.

    I receive daily notifications of ‘new users’ to my email.

    Thank you for the link, however I am still having problems because:
    Option 1 I cannot see any ‘admin panel’ as the only thing I can see is ‘view your profile’.
    Option 2 When I put in the user name through my site – it doesn’t recognise it. When I go to sign into wordpress from a search engine it accepts my username/email. This is the center of my problem. I have been able to alter / change my password today through login to wordpress through a general search engine, but the password is not accepted when I try to then login through the ‘login’ on my own webpage. So I cannot access my webpage.
    Option 3 I am not a programmer – and don’t understand MySQL – I am afraid this is beyond my ability.

    Let’s clarify a few points.

    And wordpress means your site or www.remarpro.com or wordpress.com?

    login to wordpress through a general search engine

    Please explain how you are doing this. Any login to your page would go through the login page.

    This https://www.howproject365.com/wp-admin/profile.php page? That shows you are logged in as a user not as admin.

    I did manage to get into my site – just took a little more time.

    Just wanted to say Thank you for your help.

    kmessinger, i updated to 4.2.2 yesterday and my login disappeared. Can’t access my dashboard at all. Can’t find a log in page –says page cant be found. Any suggestions of how to fix this? https://www.violettegf.com. My hosting company says it is a WP problem. Thank you.
