I need a plugin that creates a top-level page of categories

    I need to be able to have pages to be sorted by what category I mark them, and to have a top-level page automatically show a thumbnail and brief description that links to the actual page. I wanted to search for portfolio plugins but that was getting me no where fast. Can someone point me in the right direction?
