My monthly archive formatting does not look right. The template I am using, Royale, is no longer appearing in the monthly archive, for example the August one appears: https://silenceandvoice.com/2007/08/

I know there is some funny code on top, but I am not sure if that is the cause or not.

    Any suggestions?

I did notice that in the coding, for example, on the top of my archive at https://silenceandvoice.com/2006/, that there is a reference to my former MovableType blog.

I wonder if something strange happened with the import?

Any sense as to why that is there and what I can do about it?

    Thank you.

My current archive, the one for September, works fine, but none of the others look right.

    Can anybody help?

It looks like you may have some broken code somewhere. This is showing at the top of your page:

" /> and it may be from this line in your header:

    <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS 2.0" href="https://www.silenceandvoice.com/index.xml"$>" />

Perhaps, try fixing that first and see if it has any result.

There is also the issue of existing physical (=real) directories named “2007” or “2006” etc.

When using nice permalinks WP creates virtual directories for the archives, like
    example.com/2005/09/
and if you have real directories with the same name they are confliciting with your permalinks!

I just adjusted this, and still think I am having the same problem. I have adjusted a number of the files, but cannot find the one that is causing this.

    I have looked for it in archive.php, archives.php, index.php, and header.php

Odd that I see a MT reference in the header on that page as well.

    Any other suggestions?

Moshu, what can I do about this?

    a) don’t use the nice permalinks
    b) remove/rename the physical directories

Thank you, Moshu! I adjusted the permalink naming and everything now appears to be working wonderfully.

BTW, since I like the date and naming structure, I just inserted them all into an archives folder, which did the trick in the Permalinks tab.
