Editing text in post / pages.

I hate these type of posts. Total newbie rookie question, I know.

But, I seriously can’t figure it out on my own. Any solution would be greatly appreciated.

Here’s the deal:

When writing a post or a page, I cannot get the editing buttons to appear right above my typing area — you know the buttons that allow you to quickly edit the text of the post or page with bolding, insert quote, code, etc.

How do I get this to appear?
