Add choice of layout

That would actually require a good amount effort. And it is definitively not an easy or quick implementation to do. I can tell as the developer of this plugin and the jsp example you are pointing at :).

The use cases this plugin was made off (a simple landing page and quick access through a single button) would not require that so it is not likely that we work on that in the near future.

You could modify this plugin and to add this feature to the configuration page, although perhaps it would be better for you to create your own plugin.
