Featured image setting – Media not loading

  • Since the update to 4.2.2 I am no longer able to add a Featured Image to a newly created post.

    When selecting ‘Add Featured Image’ the Media page will pop up with no images showing and the grey circle just running endlessly but never displaying any images.

    Yet, when I select the ‘Media’ link in the left side main menu it pops up quite happily with all images showing.

    I have tried to create a new post and chose to add a Featured Image before writing the post content, but that didn’t work either.

    I tried to use FF, Google Chrome and even Opera, but the problem doesn’t seem to be browser related. My Java is up-to-date too.

    My theme is Smartline Lite v. 1.1.6 for my site https://www.greatdealcoupons.com

    I have tried to disable the plugins, to see if that would make a difference but it didn’t. So I don’t think that’s where the issue is either.

    So any advice would be very welcome as I really want to add more posts with featured images to my blog asap.

  • I havew the same problem with my site, I’m using a premium theme but since WP 4.2 I can’t add a featured image to an article.

    Anyone knows where I have to search to patch this bug.

    Same problem. WordPress 4.2.2.

    I appear to be able to add a featured image to a post, and the featured image I add is displayed as a thumbnail in the “Featured Image” box when editing a post, but the specified featured image does not display; rather, the default featured image for the site is displayed.

    A fix or a workaround would be appreciated.

    Any news on this thread? I have the same problem its a brand site I’m creating and normal media works fine but no featured image?

    In my case the problem was a plugin (Flip Book) that causes the error, I just update that plugin fixed.

    Try to disable all plugins, or one by one, and test the featured image if it works.

    I disabled them all and still no featured image ??

    My problem with this turned out to be a cockpit error: The image I uploaded was smaller than the theme (Weaver II Pro) required.

    “Featured Images at least as wide as default header image will be used as a replacement for default image for this page or post. Smaller images used as “thumbnail” at beginning of Page/Post.”

    I had created and uploaded an image 20 pixels narrower than required. Recreated the image to the correct size, and problem solved.
