Date field "required" not working

Hello,

I’ve been using CF7 for a few years now, but with the latest updates, the required date fields are no longer actually being required.

For instance, I have a date field:
<p>Out Date: *
[date* Out_Date date-format:mm/dd/yy first-day:1 no-weekends placeholder “mm/dd/yyyy”]

When the form submission goes to validate that there is an entry, even if there isn’t one, it sends successfully rather then erring out. All other “required” fields work as expected.
