Copy test site to main domain and overwrite existing site

  • Hi,

    I have a client site that I have done major updates to on a test subdomain. I want to copy the updated test site from the subdomain to the main domain and overwrite the existing site. What is the best way to proceed?

  • I typically like to just remove the old site completely and transfer the new one with something like Duplicator plugin. Works great, and is super easy and quick.

    Thanks for your reply. When you remove the old site, do you just delete all the files through filezilla or similar? Also, I am using Duplicator but the site has some very large photo galleries and it fails every time I try to create a package. Any suggestions?
