TwentyFifteen widget problem

Looks like a css conflict.

Try this:

.tribe-events-list-widget .tribe-events-list-widget-events.hentry {
	background: none;
}

Add that css to your theme’s stylesheet or through a plugin such as Simple Custom CSS.
