How to add a new PDF document to an existing category in a document gallery?

  • Hi, I have created a document gallery with three categories on the page https://www.transdev.co.uk/knowledgebase/ ?

    The gallery downloads are membership protected but that’s not relevant to this question. I am attempting to add a new document to one of the categories, but I can’t remember how I allocated the previous documents to categories. I’ve looked at the media gallery and the DG settings but there seems to be something missing since I uploaded the first set of documents. (I upgraded WP to v 4.1)
    Can you provide a basic step-by-step on how to add a newly uploaded PDF to an existing document gallery category please?

    Hi Kev,

    The document “category” functionality is not internal to the plugin. It relies on other plugins to provide this support, so unfortunately the only guidance I can give is to look through your plugins and see if anything looks like it adds support for media categories.

    Hi, thanks for the speedy reply. I cleared out all the inactive plugins, the data must be remaining for the PDFs to still have some category info.
    Can you suggest a media categorisation plugin which is suitable please?
