• Hi

    I’m (relatively) new to WordPress. I’m using 2.2.2 with the iTheme. My problem is this:
    If you create different categories under Blogroll, in other themes they make a new box in the sidebar. So if I went to Blogroll in control panel and made a new link called “George” under the category “Friends”, on my blog there should be a new box in the sidebar called Friends with a link called George. But no such thing happens under iTheme. I only get one box called “Links” under which all links appear that I made in Blogroll. Can anyone help me?

    I’ve tried to install new widgets too, but I’m not sure how to do this in 2.2.2 (I’ve previously used only the free wordpress blogs so please be patient).

    Thanks.

    Ok. I’ve found out how to install widgets and activate them. It’s easy. But the other problem remains.

    hmm… the link has to point to a specific URL. IE… https://www.whateveritis.com/

    It does.

    Let’s say I’m making a link to my friend george’s website in Blogroll, I might click “Add New Link”, call it “George’s Site”, give it the URL https://georgeswebsite.com and click to put it in category “Friends”.

    When that is done, the link “George’s Site” ought to appear in a sidebar box called “Friends”. But it doesn’t in iTheme.

    I noticed that under WordPress 2.2.2 there’s no Blogroll widget. There’s only a Links widget. Where can I get a Blogroll widget?

    It would appear it’s a problem with iTheme itself. I’ve upgraded to WP 2.2.2 and iTheme 1.1 — I get the same all-mushed-together Blogroll widget. However, if I switch to a different theme, it does what the Links widget is supposed to do: If you have your Blogroll links into specific categories, it makes a seperate widget for each of them.

    I have no idea how to fix it, but a workaround is to make your own widgets for each category. When I figure out how to easily do that I’ll post it here.

    hi,

    i was also looking for links categories thing in itheme.

    i did it myself. you’ll have to edit functions.php and sidebar.php and replace get_links(…) function call with

    wp_list_bookmarks();

    thats all ??
