text widgets

    when i open
    presentation->widgets

    i see some widgets named “Text” “Text” what are they for? are they just place holders for other widgets to be added later?

  • when you pull the text widget into the sidebar and click on the right hand tab, it will pop up an empty box into which you can add text, some kinds of code, code for an image etc.

    add what you want, close it, click save changes and then go to your front page to see if it worked.

    vshare, if you go see my site https://joscafe.com you will see on my side bar the “suggested reading” and “Juke Box Specials” .. those were put there by the text widgets. I just put the code or information to those links from my old sidebar.php, in the widget. Now I don’t have to redo it everytime I change themes …
