Firefox . . .again (from Troubleshooting)

  • I put this question in Troubleshooting but my post pretty much got buried. Okay, the one reply that I did get questioned my valid xhtml code and why this, margin: 3.0in 0 0 .1in, was in my css sheet.
    Okay, I have errors on my page according the validator, however, they all revolve around one piece of code which is the image pixie on the left side of the screen. I like the pixie, I’m not removing it even if it causes errors, and after removing it the problem didn’t go away.
    Second, I am using Dreamweaver to shape my pages and apparently you can use the margin code to deal with top, right, bottom and left by spacing between the values. And Dreamweaver lets you use inch values as well as pixels and ems. The .1in value was to offset the links from the category divisions.
    Okay so now that I’ve addressed all potential concerns — I was wondering — does anyone know why Firefox shows my menus margins to be in the center of the panel. I have looked extensively but I cannot find the cause. Thanks in advance. ?? ?? And I’m not trying to be arrogant with asserting that there are no flaws in my page — only that I do not understand where the previous questions were flaws. I’m happy to listen to reasons why what I have done hasn’t worked yet or even contributes to my problem. Thank you again.

    Thank you for your help. Okay, I did try your suggestions (uh I will work on the pixels heh heh). Took out the extraneous ul tags, coded padding as zero, and inserted an “amp” in two different places on the pixie code.
    lol. And I’m so sorry to tell you this . . . ?? The situation’s only marginally improved. Some of the validator errors were cleared up. I could only use one “amp” since using the other changes the image for the pixie. But that’s extraneous — I can live with it for that cute little image. ??
    The padding alteration didn’t really do anything, I’m sorry to say. I don’t suppose this would buried in some php code that I have not yet discovered?

    Okay I figured out the ampersands thing and now the images are compliant. Cool thanks. I still have other issues but I’ll ask those questions later.

    Okay, I have a bit of a question. this may seem odd, but here we go. I’m running the latest edition of Firefox on my machine, but I still have Internet Explorer. I have a link on the quick launch bar at the bottom of my screen that takes me directly to my favorite online Christian radio station (https://www.z883.com/z88-128s-rem.asx) This link automatically calls up Windows Media Player and runs it in the Player window when I’m using IE6. My only real complaint with Firefox is that now whenI try to call it up, makes a PLUNK noise, gives me this error message, and tells me all this stuff about a net reset error. How can I make my computer use Internet Explorer for this link, instead of Firefox?
