    Hi,

I’ve been working on a new site using the Tesseract theme and I can’t get the easy google fonts plugin to show my manually added theme typography.

https://b-thinking.nl/wp/ this is the (under construction) website URL.

    I’ve been following these steps:

Go to settings > google fonts
Click Create a New Google Font
    Name it Home Headline
    Click Create Google Font
Under Add CSS Selector type .home-headline
Click create a new font control
Go to your homepage and roll over your name and click customize
    Click Typography > Theme Typography

However, after I’ve created the Google Font Controls they will not show up. In fact the whole button ‘Theme Typography’ won’t show up.

What am I doing wrong? I’ve tried re-installing the plugin but nothing seems to work.

    Much obliged!

    Greets,

    Bas

    Hi Bas,
This is very unusual, I suspect that it is a theme issue. Have you tried:

    • Checking to see if the plugin works with another theme?
    • Deactivating any other plugins that you have one by one to determine whether it could be a plugin conflict?

What do you see when you visit the customizer? Cheers

    Hi Sunny,

Thank you for the fast reply!
I tried the themes first and still had the same problem. Then tried deactivating the plugins one by one and i found that the Qtranslate plugin was the one causing the bug. After I deactiviated the Qtranslate plugin the ‘theme typography’ showed up.

    Thanks again!

    Hi Bas,
Awesome thanks for letting me know. I was wondering if you could rate this plugin when you get a moment please. Cheers

I have installed Tesserat theme and I am having issues with the Typography screen, no matter what I amend, nothing changes in the
appearance of the page. My site is inactive and I really don’t know how to activate it.
I am very new to this, so I will need a lot of TLC, not always knowing what I am doing. HELP.

    Hi tunlea,
Please read this first then post a new topic. Cheers

I am following Tyler Moore’s instructions on how to build a web site (mine is erdasa.biz) and Theme Typography won’t show up. I disabled plug-ins but it did not solve the problem. Any suggestions?

    Hi Hans,
Theme typography only shows up once you have created a new custom font control for your theme (by going to Settings > Google Fonts). Hope that helps. Cheers

Hello I am having the same problem, I have set my Google fonts as instructions but nothing changes on my page. I have deleted them and re-placed them but still wont change on my page
    Any ideas
    thanks

Well finally sorted my problem, I need to put my glasses on was forgetting to put the . in front of the css rule
2 hours of my life I wont get back. ??

Hi, I’m also following Tyler Moore’s Instructions.

The problem I have with google fonts is that even though I use the css selector “.home-headline” i still cant control the headline. I’ve exactly followed his instructions though and idk where it all went wrong. For the subheading I used the css selector “.home-sub” and it worked perfectly fine so idk what I’m doing wrong.

Should i use another css selector??

Also since I can’t control the headline using theme typography i decided to control it using default typography but then not only does the home headline change but so does the title, every change I make to the home headline, also applies to site title and it’s really annoying.

Then I tried using the css selector “.entry-tile” and it changes the home headline without changing the site title but then when i try to change the spacing of the home title, the spacing of the site title also changes.

Idk why to do and I’m so frustrated atm.

Also i need to move the home headline upwards but it just doesn’t go up and down like it did in tyler moore’s video. Can anyone help with that??

    hello Amnazia

I no this sounds stupid but i would check the spelling and make sure they are the same in the css selector as you have put in your visual editor because if they are not the same it wont work as i found out, and if your sub headline is working there should be non reason why your main should not work hope this helps

    good luck

I have also had the same problems. I used the code that Tyler inserted into his Tesseract Theme and then modified it to fit my needs. However i discovered one must pay minute attention to the details.
I hope you fixed the problem.
