    Looks like I won’t be able to use the plug-in after all. The php update was causing havoc with other pages on the same server and had to revert back.

    you mean update to php 5.4? sorry to hear that.
    though if php 5.4 causing conflicts and errors then you should fix those scripts as they probably do something wrong or have deprecated code.
    your hosting won’t stay with old php version forever.
