Thumbnail links to open Galleries are broken after update

@antwortzeit – Are you using the “Link to page:” option for the album and/or the galleries within the album as all of the galleries are linking back to the album page as is.

Yes, i have. The album is inserted via Shortcode:

[album id=1 template=extend]

@antwortzeit – Have you tried using the IGW (“green button”) in the TinyMCE editor to insert the album instead of the NextGEN Legacy shortcode you are using?

Just checked this and it results in the exact same output without links.
