but the plugin lets select only one.

A comma-separated list of properties characterizing the content of the article, such as “PressRelease” or “UserGenerated.” See Google News content properties for a list of possible values. Your content must be labeled accurately, in order to provide a consistent experience for our users.

  • On Settings > Reading you can select one default genre but individual posts can have multiple genres assigned. See the Google News Genres meta box on any post edit page.

It works the same as with WP’s own default category. When a post does not get any gneres assigned, it will fall back in this single default genre.

Okay, but I cant assign multiple default genres, that was I trying to explain maybe I haven’t been specific on the “default” thing.

That’s correct. Just one default at this point.

I’ll consider this as a feature request then ??

Not working for individual posts to me. I can’t see any genre to choose.

@all multiple default genres is now possible

@mpapad please make sure the main Google News Sitemap option on Settings > Reading is activated, then make sure the post type you want to use is checked at “Include post types” in the new Google News Sitemap section. Then go back to edit a post of that type and look for a metabox called “Google News Genres” (normally at the bottom of the column on the right) but you might need to open the “Screen Options” tab (top right) and see if “Google News Genres” is checked there.
