wangguard-about.php is deleted each morning

    Every morning I have the following two warnings on every page on my site and every time I find wangguard-about.php is missing. No other files are affected, the problem also occurred under WP 4.1.2 and 4.1.3.

    Warning: include_once(wangguard-about.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/therouti/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/wangguard/wangguard-admin.php on line 58

    Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘wangguard-about.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/therouti/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/wangguard/wangguard-admin.php on line 58

    I usually replace the file by ftp, permissions 644, owner 564, group 562 like all the other Wangguard files. I’m also running Akismet, BruteProtect and ContactForm 7 plugins. Site is https://theroutiers.org/wp

    Hi @reverendr,

    This error is related that wangguard-admin.php is not finding wangguard-about.php.

    Please, can you check if /plugins/wangguard/wangguard-about.php exist?

    Ups, I read your post diagonally… I don’t know why it is removed.

    Akismet, ContactForm 7 are not removing this file and I don’t think that BruteProtect are removing the file.

    Did you contacted with your hosting?

    I’ve been in touch with my hosting provider, the file wangguard-about.php was being quarantined by the server’s eXploit Scanner. It has now been added to the Ignore list.

    Had this same issue as well, the host said it referenced akamai.net which is what got it flagged as malicious. I asked them to whitelist it and it is working now, just wanted to post my feedback on it.
