wordpress blog and our main website URL

I need some help. We have a website, at https://www.collegerentals.com. Part of that website is our content section for articles, which is our blog at https://www.collegerentals.com/apartment-news

Problem is, this appears to be treated as a separate website as far as google in concerned. It doesnt appear to be treated as ONE website.

We want the blog to simply be the content section of our apartment site, to help with traffic, page-rank, etc.

But we cannot figure out how to do this. Any ideas?
