• We’re using ADI to allow our AD users to log in to our wordpress installation. I then use BridgeDD to sync the users from WP to our PhpBB forum. This means that the passwords set from when a user first logged in to WP are the ones being synced to PhpBB. Which in turn means users can only log in from WP then navigate to phpBB to be logged in – they can’t log in from phpBB because it’s picked up their old passwords.

Due to a recent password policy change, this means no one can log in via phpBB side of things.

We have “Automatic User Creation” and “Set local password on first successfull login” enabled.
We want to use “Automatic Password Update” but this needs “Automatic User Update” enabled. When I tried enabling “Automatic User Update” it reset everyone to ‘Subscriber’ role (including me!) which means I had to go and dig out the original admin account WP was installed with so I could turn it off again and fix everyones user roles.

Ideally we’d like to use this so that anytime a user updates their password it’s not going to cause the same issue again. Is there any way to stop the user role from being reset when “Automatic User Update” is enabled?

    Any help appreciated!
