    Hi Bill,

Happy to help. It looks like both sites are still active as separate WordPress sites? We can perform the merge, in doing so, it does truly merge the stats. We don’t provide an option to view two different sites’ stats side-by-side, though you can view them via the https://wordpress.com site and switch between them pretty easily.

The best approach would be complete the changeover that you’re doing on your end if, in the end, you’re making one install serving both the homepage and the blog, then merging stats.

    Cheers!

    Hi

Yes – they are two installs – the site and the blog are separate installs.

However, we want to merge the stats so that they are considered one site for the stats purpose.

The blog install has existed for several years – so we just want the new site install to be added to the blog stats.

    Thanks

    Bill

I would advice against that. With our stats process, we record only the post ID number and the rest of the information (the title, link to the actual post, etc) is pulled from the site’s database.

Since you’ll have conflicting ID numbers, none of the stats would really be accurate, except for total number of views per day. For example, if both sites had a post with the ID of 10, there would be no way to tell which of the two were visited and rather, would indicate the name of the post on one of the sites without indicating that there was a duplication.

    Cheers!

Ok – thanks. We will leave it as is.
