Slider an Post Excerpt..

Hi smayurika. Not sure what you’re asking here. Are you only wanting to show one category on the home page? For the Featured Posts slider you can set the category in Theme Options > Blog > Featured Category.

This is my very first website, and problem is I already turn on the feature post slider from the theme options,but is not showing on the home page. I think the slider not able to connect with my home page and my hoem page still empty.

And the second problem is when I click the category post from the header menu,
first show me the excerpt. I want the full post instead of the excerpt because I have only post in one category.

Do you have a static Front Page defined in Settings > Reading? If so, it won’t show the Featured Posts slider or any posts. If you set the “Front Page displays” option to “Your latests posts” then the slider should be displayed.
The category pages don’t display full posts; they show previews of posts that are in that particular category. When you open a single post then it will display the full content. The category page can be modified to show the full post but, when you start adding more posts, the page will become very long and the user won’t be able to see the posts that are available without scrolling down and reading through all of them.

Yes, now I am able to show the excerpt on the my home page.
But still trying to figure out how i can remove the excerpt preview on the category page.

Not sure what you mean by ” remove the excerpt preview”. What is it that you want to be displayed on the category page?

I would like category page to show full post because I will not have multiple posts in a category so would like to display entire post. Please let me know how can I do that. Thanks.

If you only have one post in a category then the category page is just an extra layer that’s not needed. I would remove all the Category menu items and open the posts directly from the menu:

1. Edit your post
2. Copy the permalink address (just under the post title)
3. In your menu, add a new Custom Link:
URL: the post permalink address
Name: your category name
Add to Menu
Save Menu
