Suggestion to make the best plugin

First of all I like the idea behind the move to the new file type. It has the potential to make things much smoother.

However, is it possible to include the option to export either new wp file type or old zip type. I don’t always want to give 775 permission on my server and would never give 777.

Also, When building locally (win 7) I use your plugin to update my local install. I may be wrong but I think that this can’t work with the new version because I get the file permission error even though I obviously have write privileges.

If there is a way to use the plugin to update a win 7 install could someone help me? I have switched back to the older version for now.
