• Hi!
I have searched the forum and the internet at large, so forgive me if I have missed something. I would sure like to keep NextGen because I love it and am considering upgrading to the pro version, so I hope someone can help.

    I have:
    Wordpress 4.1.1
    Woo Storefront theme 1.4.3
    WooCommerce 2.3.7
    WooCommerce Product Documents 1.3.0
    WooCommerce Catalogue Visibility Options 2.5.8
    Storefront WooCommerce Customizer 1.4.0
    NextGen Gallery 2.0,79
    NextGen Custom Fields 1.2.4
    I created a child theme.
I use Desktop Server to host this locally for development.

    Problem:
I decided to use NextGen for an “Inspiration gallery” that will eventually have many hundreds of images.
All my pictures, including those outside of NextGen (like all the product category and sub-category images that I had previously uploaded) now have a a very ugly black frame around them and a verticle line too, when you click on them. Here’s a link to what it looks like: https://tinypic.com/m/iwrdjk/4

    What I tried:
I deactivated each plug-in one by one except NextGen, as instructed. The black frame did not go away.
I then switched to Twenty Fourteen and what few pics were left were good, without a black frame.

I think this is great plugin and I so want it to work. If need be, I can deploy this to a server I’m using for learning.

Thanks in advance for any help. This is for a client and I am a little nervous! I have been using WP for a couple of years, but I am just now learning code and more advanced WP skills, so I am a newbie in that regard.

    K

@kstbn – Noting that the issue appears to resolve when using Twenty Fourteen would point to something in the CSS of the current theme creating this conflict.

A link to the actual site … or your “learning” site (if the problem persists) … may help to sort this out a bit further.

    Thanks!

Thank you! I don’t know enough (yet!) to be able to resolve this issue. Here is the test site: https://www.testing.marketwriting.net.
    Appreciate your help.

Funny, I just realized when I got a chance to really look at what I uploaded: the black frames are gone, but so is the gallery, which says [not a valid template] on the front end. It still shows on the back end.
    It’s hosted with SiteGround, btw.

@kstbn – Thanks for the link.

Are you using a custom template with the display? Generally you will see this message if you are using a template that does not exist (or has been removed).

@photocrati – Thanks for taking a look and my apologies for my slow response. (I had surgery this week and just now getting back in the game).

I checked the template and I guess something happened during the deploy; it was on the wrong setting. I now have my gallery back, but the black lines are are back too. And they remain when I deactivate the plugin.

Any help you have to offer is much appreciated. Here’s the site link again: https://www.testing.marketwriting.net/

    Thanks so much!

@kstbn – If you are having display issues with NextGEN Gallery deactivated then it is most likely something else that is causing them.
