    Hi,

I have been using EWWWIO for a while to resize images that are uploaded and inserted in my website via NGG. Suddenly (no major changes, just regular updates of WP and plugins) I can not upload new images into galleries anymore.

WP/NGG informs me after a failed upload with the following message:
“An unexpected error occured. This is most likely due to a server misconfiguration. Check your PHP error log or ask your hosting provider for assistance.”

So I checked the error log via myPhpadmin which reads:

    04.04.2015 14:32:12 aconcagua.de [client 144.76.8.0] FastCGI: “/home/strato/http/fastcgi/rid/80/07/5668007/htdocs/aconcagua/index.php” aborted: no response after 123 sec (idle timeout 120 sec)
    08.04.2015 11:54:10 aconcagua.de [client 78.52.113.0] WordPress-Datenbank-Fehler Duplicate key name ‘path_image_size’ f\xc3\xbcr Abfrage ALTER TABLE wp_ewwwio_images ADD INDEX path_image_size (path(255), image_size) von do_action(‘admin_init’), call_user_func_array, ewww_image_optimizer_admin_init, ewww_image_optimizer_init, ewww_image_optimizer_install_table, dbDelta, referer: https://www.aconcagua.de/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-plugin-upgrade

So, in my (unprofessional) view, there seems to be a problem with EWWWIO and some duplicates (“duplicate key names” doesn′t mean anything to me…)

Could you please help me resolve this problem?

    Kind regards
    Christian

Have you upgraded to EWWW 2.3.2? That issue should be fixed now.

    Hi,

    thanks for the quick reply!

In my “panic” I first deactivated, then uninstalled EWWWIO (more patience, young Padawan! ?? ).

I have reinstalled the new version, but the problem persists….

I have not touched anything in EWWWIOs options so far. Is there anything I should have a look at?

Well, the database error has nothing to do with Nextgen, still not sure why you’re seeing it with 2.3.2. Besides, that error normally only happens during a plugin upgrade, and then it goes away. Is there nothing else in the error log?

Also, does an upload complete successfully with EWWW disabled?

And, are you using the EWWW IO Cloud API?

    (@wishbonex)

    Hi,

no, I use the “regular” EWWW IO, no cloud API.

The error persists, EWWWIO active or deactivated.

I can view the errorlog, the last actions are these (for some reason, today′s failed uploads are not listed in the errorlog yet). I don′t know if this is any help.

If the error persists with EWWW deactivated, then the problem is not with EWWW. Either another plugin has broken the upload process, or your server is overloaded. Several of the errors you’ve posted indicate server timeouts waiting for various processes to complete, not just the upload process.

Okay, that was yesterday′s errorlog, there was in fact a severe lag.

I′ll check again tomorrow, maybe today′s fails are listed then.

What about the first errorlog I posted in the original post?

    See you tomorrow ??

Generally error logs are instant. Check with your webhost to see if there is any sort of lag in the logging system. The one message in the first log related to EWWW has been fixed in 2.3.2. If you DO see it again now that you’ve upgraded, certainly let me know.

The recommended procedure for troubleshooting something elusive like this is to disable ALL plugins (except Nextgen of course) and see if the issue persists. If it does, change your theme to twentyfifteen and try again. Then you enable plugins one at a time until the problem comes back (unless it was your theme causing issues).

    Hi,

I checked the error log again, no new errors “recorded” for yesterday′s failed uploads (I don′t have a clue why, sorry).

the aforementioned error message is not showing up in the regular log either. These are the last recordings:
    aconcagua.de anon-85-179-136-125.telefonica.de – – [16/Apr/2015:11:45:23 +0200] “GET /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_addgallery_page/static/plupload-2.1.1/jquery.plupload.queue/img/backgrounds.gif HTTP/1.1” 304 – “https://www.aconcagua.de/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_addgallery_page/static/plupload-2.1.1/jquery.plupload.queue/css/jquery.plupload.queue.min.css?ver=4.1.1” “Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/41.0.2272.118 Safari/537.36”

    aconcagua.de anon-85-179-136-125.telefonica.de – – [16/Apr/2015:11:45:36 +0200] “POST /?photocrati_ajax=1&action=upload_image&gallery_id=315&gallery_name=&nextgen_upload_image_sec=9fbd2f87ad HTTP/1.1” 200 558 “https://www.aconcagua.de/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ngg_addgallery” “Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/41.0.2272.118 Safari/537.36”

I see that EWWWIO is not mentioned (anymore) but maybe you have an idea.

I have tried all the “workarounds” with standard themes, deactivating all other plugins etc. but the problem with the uploads persists.

    Kind regards

I think you ought to check with your webhost to see if they can shed any light on the situation. Without being able to actually see what is going on, I can’t offer any other ideas. Sorry.
