How to remove comment fields and navigation from pages

    Currently, there are comment fields on every page, and site navigation appears at the top of each page, next to site identity. I don’t want either of those things, but I can’t find how to remove them.

    Can anyone please point me to the instructions on doing that?

    Solved, but not by reconfiguring any theme options or the theme itself, but by installing the “Disable Comments” plugin.
