Membership Roles

I have subscription plans setup, A Free account, monthly rate account and yearly account. But, Even though I have rules in place for what these plans offer a user, when I “test” it and give a second account the monthly or yearly subscription, they still aren’t allowed to go to these locations. I believe it is because, the main “member” list that comes available on the site says the users are still “Subscribers”. I need to code in something or find a way that, when someone pays for a subscription, their account updates so that the whole site understands what their role is rather than just the “Membership” plugin. Extra info. I have the “Subscriber” role activate as the “free” account since it is the default and then I have “Contributor” as the paid subscription account. Thank you.
