    I think that’s because each year isn’t enclosed in a <tr> tag, which appears to be a shortcoming in the plugin. I’m planning to rethink how the shortcode works for the next big release.

    As for how it’s done on my site, I actually do it in PHP using the get_smarter_archives() function. Here’s what the code looks like:
