Background theme Issue

There are WordPress image sizes that you can set under Settings -> Media. I found that uploading large images through there instead of through a template was a bit more successful too.

Thanks , however Can you please suggest what is the size that would be a good fit for a static page. I am new to all this so a little help would be appreciated. Thanks

This is what mine is default set to – a full page width should probably be 1200 as a good starting point:
