I’ve tried to install the ultimate FAQ plugin, but all I ever get when trying to access the customization portion of it is the error code of : You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

Tried to install and re-install with no luck.. am I missing something? this couldn’t be a plugin conflict could it?

  • Hi Prostreet,

Are you using an administrator account for this installation?

Yes I am Etoilewebdesign? I check my users and Im listed there as admin.. not sure what’s going on?

    Hi Prostreet,

Thanks for getting back to us, we’re not sure quite sure what is causing this problem but we’ll see if we can figure something out.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Just downloaded and installed Ultimate FAQ (as admin) but when I click Settings, I get the insufficient permissions error. ??

    Hi Mumsco,

Thanks so much for letting us know that you’re having the same issue.
We’ll see if we can figure out what’s going on for you guys!

    Couple of follow-up questions:
    1) Are you guys using any plugins that modify user roles or permissions?
    2) Do any of the plugin pages display, or none at all?

    Hi,

    Thanks for looking into this.

    1) No I’m not using any role modifying plugins.

    2) I can’t access any of the plugin pages.

Sorry if that’s not much help.

I have tried deactivating all my other plugins to see if there is a conflict there, but still get the same error.

Please let me know if I can help narrow it down any other way.

    Hi Mumsco,

Is there anything you can think of that would be different for your site than the standard WordPress install? When we create the menus, all we specify is that the user needs permission to edit posts (edit_posts), which doesn’t even require admin privileges usually, so it’s a really, really strange problem from our perspective.

    Hello,

I’ve the same problem, but only in view “All Plugins”. Under the name “Ultimate FAQ” there is a link to settings (this needs special rights) and deaktivate the plugin.
When I got to FAQ/FAQ Settings, I can set all settings.

I’m using this as admin and did’t modify any roles.

    Hi Gerd,

Sorry to hear you’re having issues with permissions, thanks for letting us know we’ll try to get this figured out for you.

To repeat what Rustaurius asked before, is there anything you can think of that would be different for your site than the standard WordPress install?

Also, just to clarify, is this only happening when you click on the link from the “settings” link from the plugin page?

    Hello EtoileWebDesign,

yes this is only there. I installed Ultimate FAQ in several WP-Install and all the same. Nothing special. I have reset my WP-Testinstallation and it’s the same. You need more rights only on plugin page. In Register FAQ it’s no problem to open and save settings.

    Hi Gerd,

Just to understand your answer, then, if you click from the sidebar menu, this isn’t an issue?

    Hi Rustaurius,

    yes that’s rigth
