    Hi,

    Only the log directory, “/wp-content/nfwlog/”, need to be writable so that the firewall can write to the updates log. But it should already be writable as it contains the firewall logs and cache folder. This also applies to all other options/features, like “File Check” or “Live Log” for instance.

    We do not write to any file during the update process, not even a temporary one. Data is downloaded and parsed in memory, then saved to the corresponding database table.
