Having two blogs pointing to the same database

  • Dear Community,

    I have a blog running successfully. Now I want to use the postings from my db to have a second blog. How do I do this? Basically, I want to copy my whole wordpress folder in another directory on the webserver – and leave all the settings in wp-config.php the same (as it should be the same database). But I cannot login – if I login I get a fresh and new site….
    Any help? Thx!

  • Since the blog’s address (see the two URI values in the old blog’s admin > Options > General) are stored in the database – you cannot use the database at two addresses!

    Not really. Google might punish you for dupliacte content…

    Yes, rss might be a solution. Perhaps, somebody figured out another way, too. Did you try searching the forums?

    Because then it’s more likely to be considered spam, perhaps?

    Why would you want to reuse your content anyway? What is the purpose of this? What’s your goal?

    I want use my content on two different websites, with two different approaches: One company weblog, one university weblog. Anyway, I could make it one – but I thought there *must* be way!
