Media images not showing up in library

My images that I upload aren’t showing up in my media library, although they are showing up on the web server in my uploads file. I’ve tried everything and nothing has worked. I’ve de-activated all plugins, reset the plugin folder, changed the file permissions to 755, changed themes, did a fresh install of the wp-admin and wp-includes files. What else could it be?
