Hi I am finally using your plugin and it works fine !! Really great. I only noticed that my Avatar thumbnails became very low-res after bulk generating. Is this related to your plugin or another setting ? Any idea how to solve that ?

Also is there a way that I use my own fall back avatar for people don’t have one. I used to have a gif, but I can’t select it in discussion anymore since your plugin requires to select local avatar + identicon.

The best would be for me to have all stored locally but not to used identicon but only one gif.
    Appreciate.

    I cannot duplicate that issue.

The thumbnails are generated at the dimensions stored in Settings > Media or if you’ve explicitly set the sizes using BP.

Do you have some other plugin that touches avatars?

I don’t understand your question. The idea of BP Local Avatars is that there are no generic avatars. An avatar generated for them and stored locally for each new member.

Members who existed prior to activating my plugin will use the default avatar – see the link above on how to change that. Use the Bulk Generate link to provide unique local avatars for those members, if you want.

Then why would you want to use this plugin?

well I want to use the plugin mainly because I don’t want to load from gravtar all the time, this is slowing down my page. I want everything to be stored and served from my server.
I am only wondering if I can do that without using the identicons.

If a member has an existing gravatar that is not an Identicon, then it will use that existing avatar and store it locally. Otherwise it will generate an Identicon and store it locally.
