Unfortunately FatSecret’s Javascript Method, which this plugin uses, doesn’t allow being called via SSL. I tried to get SSL to work when designing the plugin but FatSecret’s Javascript errored out.

This seems to be another limitation of the Javascript method which is unfortunate. I would prefer to call their API using a SSL channel.

I realize your issue was NOT resolved, however there isn’t much that can be done until FatSecret allows for their API to be called via https. Since there isn’t much I can do at this point I am going to mark this as resolved.

I will happily add in SSL support when and if FatSecret adds this ability. As I stated I tried to do this when designing the plugin and would have called the API using SSL from the very beginning.

If you wish to add additional notes or comments feel free to post to this thread. Thanks!

its cool, i just thought about something, do you think its a good idea to install it on a nonssl subdomain and load it via iframe on the website ? ..

You could do that however keep in mind the output from FatSecret can change and thus the size of the table. So make sure you set your iframe size accordingly.

However if you are going to load that in an SSL channel browsers will issue warnings that something on the page is being called insecurely. Argh! I really wish FatSecret would just support SSL.
