Enabling qtranslate-x breaks my server configuration

    Hello!

    First of all,i would like to say that i’m loving qtranslate-x, helps me doing multilingual sites, and nowadays is my favourite language plugin.

    I’ve used it on several websites, but today, i’ve had an issue with one of them, and i would like to see if you can help me with this.

    Enabling qtranslate-x (only happens with this plugin) breaks my server and makes it unable to establish external connections.

    For example, after activating qtranslate-x my plugin registry says:

    An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration.

    Also, Woocommerce System Status says:

    ? wp_remote_post() failed. PayPal IPN won’t work with your server. Contact your hosting provider. Error: Couldn’t resolve host ‘www.paypal.com’

    Note that everything happens after activating qtranslate-x. before everything was working as expected.

    I’ve tried to delete and reinstall it again, and i’m on WP 4.1.1 and qtranslate-x 3.2.9

    I’m also unable to remove the default chinese language to add another one.
    When I try to do it, it throws this error:

    Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to www.remarpro.com. Please contact your server administrator.) in /home/biokalma/public_html/wp-admin/includes/translation-install.php on line 59

    Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in /home/biokalma/public_html/wp-content/plugins/qtranslate-x/admin/update-gettext-db.php on line 20

    Any hint in why this can be happening?

    I’ve tried the last beta version found on other forum post, and the issues are still there.

    Please try first the latest Beta version. download here

    See if that makes a difference

    I’m sorry, but also with your Beta Version 3.2.9.6 the issue is happening.
    The last one of the errors don’t give you any clue? I’m searching over the forums and internet, but i havnt got any lucky yet.

    Another update.
    I’ve done a var_dump($result); in the update_gettext-db file stated by the error, and has told me that:

    object(WP_Error)#744 (2) { [“errors”:”WP_Error”:private]=> array(1) { [“translations_api_failed”]=> array(1) { [0]=> string(219) “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.” } } [“error_data”:”WP_Error”:private]=> array(1) { [“translations_api_failed”]=> string(41) “Couldn’t resolve host ‘api.www.remarpro.com'” } }

    From this I can assumpe that the var $result, which was doing this:

    translations_api( ‘core’, array( ‘version’ => $wp_version ) );

    is failing for some reason.

    I do want to help, but im not a wordpress expert.

    how is your site built up?

    Try deactivate,temporarily, all other plugins and see if the problem persists.

    Ok. Is a fresh wordpress installation. 4.1.1 with contact form 7, envato toolkit, qtranslate-x, revolution slider, woocommerce, wordpress importer and wbakery visual builder. Nothing very fancy.

    AFTER disabling all plugins, seems that is working again. I’ve tried to activate all plugins one by one, and the plugin which is causing the conflict is… (drums sound)… WPBakery Visual Composer Version 4.4.3

    Recommended by the template.

    I hope i’ve given you useful information about this and help you improve this awesome plugin.

    I just had sort of the same problem after updating everything. My homepage says: “Fatal error: Call to undefined function qtrans_getLanguage() in [..]public_html/wp-content/plugins/dynamic-widgets/mods/qt_module.php on line 53”
    I found out that if I deactivate the plugin ‘Dynamic Widgets’, the problem is solved. Since I don’t use it anymore my problem is solved, but just wanted to let you know Gunu!
