I just ran an update for 2.2.0 to 2.2.1 for the All-In-One Event calendar, and got the following error message on both the Admin area settings page and the front-end calendar page:

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘singular’ in /[site root]/wp-includes/l10n.php on line 418

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘plural’ in /[site root]/wp-includes/l10n.php on line 418

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘context’ in /[site root]/wp-includes/l10n.php on line 418

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘domain’ in /[site root]/wp-includes/l10n.php on line 414

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘context’ in /[site root]/wp-includes/l10n.php on line 417

I rolled the update back because the site is live, but I can do some testing after business hours. Is this a bug in the update?

  • Hello,

Have you upgraded addons after the core upgrade?

I checked and one of the add-ons was out of date. I updated that, and we’re still getting the same error message.

Debugging was turned on in the wp-config.php files, so I switched that off for now.

What happens if you deactivate all addons, error message is still there?
