    I have a few questions

    1) Does the featured images have to be hosted on a website somewhere or can we also use a dropbox link?

    2) Is there anyway to make sure that any picture imported maintains the same file name? This plugin seems to change the filename.

    3) Is there a reason why the featured image would not show up on a post? I have tried multiple times to import a picture I know exists on a url, but the image does not show up on the post. All other fields work fine.

    Thanks.

    @johnny79,
    1. Yes, you have to host images in external or internal urls. Dropbox images not supported.
    2. No, file names are not changed unless it is a duplicate of existing one and this is wordpress default.
    3. Feature image import have no issues when we tested it to reproduce this issue. Are you sure the image format and url is correct? It is downloadable form source? You can add a sample csv for any further support.

    Everything looks fine.

The only issue that I don’t like is that all images imported from one website to another are shown on the new site as being Hotlinked.

It would be convenient if we were able to import the images into a new website and host images locally on that website.

Now I gotta go back and delete all the featured images.

Besides that minor issue the plugin is awesome

@johnny79, is this multi site? can you please add a sample CSV?

They are not part of a multi-site network. I basically want to take all the content/images from one website (A) and transfer them to a new website (B).

The problem that I have is that when I import the csv into the new site (B) everything is imported correctly, however, the images are not hosted locally on my new site. The url of the image points back to the original website (A) instead. I rather not post the csv publicly. I will contact you at your website. Thanks.

Yes please add more details using our webform here https://smackcoders.com/contact-us.html

This is probably because the URL of the images were not changed. You probably have them in the CSV as:

    https://www.originalwebsite.com/image-name

    when it should be:

    https://www.newwebsite.com/image-name

Of course, the images should be on the server that hosts your new website. ??

This is also why it is better to use relative URLS rather than absolute URLS.
