I updated plugins tonight and the new WP 4.1.1 I had to do it all FTP manually as I have a multi site config. When I finished, the site showed I still had not updated the plugins or new version of WP. I logged out to log back in and got this message:

The file ‘wp-config.php’ already exists. If you need to reset any of the configuration items in this file, please delete it first. You may try installing now.

I thought I followed instructions I found on a forum, but deleted some files and cannot get in or see any of the sites. I tried to reinstall WP and still nothing. I have 30 sites down. Please help ASAP! Thank you.

Got some help from my hosting provider. Tech worked off the grid to help me with a software issue when he is only tasked to resolve hardware. RackSpace Rules!!!
