  • I have this same problem. Admin gets the email from the form submission but the user does not get the email with the download link.

    A little more detail…

I set the admin email to be my work email (related to my domain name that is different than the domain name that the website is on) and to my gmail account. I get the admin email in both.

If I test as a user entering in either my work or my gmail account nothing comes through.

I have tried using Send Email and Both, with and without attachment. Nothing seems to work. Any tips you can give me would be great!

There is a test for here: https://ajourneyofepiphanies.com/dev/?page_id=44

There is a screenshot of my settings here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5LmZbTmzlW3WkpWNUJZSllIM2M/edit?usp=drivesdk

Confirm it’s a problem with the plugin by looking at your email log. Maybe install Email Log.

    Thanks for the quick response.

The email shows up in the log but the To field is blank. Could this be from the Contact Form?

More information on my side :

    – The email sent by the form to the webmaster is OK
    – The email sent by EBD is never received. I tried 4 different email asdress

I can see the email in the email log (to field is correct), but it is never received …

You can test here : https://dev.milanamos.com/white-paper-2/

    Thanks

I would probably go back to just Contact Form 7 and see if it can send email to an outside email address (not your WP admin). So I would probably disable EBD and set up a new CF7 form on a new page and set that form to send to outside email address (on gmail or whatever) and try that and see if that works … that might help narrow it down.

    Hello dtynan,

with CF7, I can send email. I have been able to receive the CF7 email on my personal gmail address without any problem. So the problems seems to be with EBD.

    Hi,

I have the same problem with EBD like @camouyer. I tested CF7 and it worked, both Mail and Mail (2) in CF7 can send to gmail.com.

For EBD, I added the [email-download download_id="X" contact_form_id="Y"] (for X is download ID, Y is CF7 ID) in the post, but seems like just CF7 worked. I didn’t receive EBD email.

P.S: @dtynan and @postman SMTP, I’ve read your comments in this topic and highly appreciate your effort! Thank you guys! But is the SPF and DKIM related to this problem?

Looking forwards to hearing from you!

    Best regards,

@dominhduc, if your from address is gmail.com, and you are definitely using an SMTP plugin to send mail through smtp.gmail.com, then you can rule out an SPF/DKIM problem. try that. Here’s a testing tool.

@dtynan gave some good advice that will probably point out any general mail delivery issues. the problem could be with EBD itself. use Email Log to verify that the emails are actually being generated.if they aren’t, definitely an EBD problem.

Thank you so much @postman SMTP! I’ll try it and give you feedback soon!
