Home page description not showing

The home description is no longer displayed after the 2.2.6 update.

The plugin now renders the description of your latest blog post instead of the home description that you input in the Home Page Settings of this plugin.

So if you look at your page source you’ll see your latest blog post description listed twice, once at the top and another duplicate entry where it belongs.

Nowhere will you see your proper home description.

The Static Front Page option doesn’t resolve it.

If you use the static page option, then it will use the title and description from your static front page, if you have one set up. Also, it should be using the home description regardless if you’re not using the static page option. What’s your website, and what are your settings for how the front page is displayed in WordPress?

That looks like it is using the description from the latest post; do you have it set to use the description from the static home page? If not, then yes, it should be using the home description here.

i didnt do anything when i updated the plugin it happened like that.Before it was good

I tested this and can’t reproduce the issue; if you have a Home Description set it should be showing up. What do you have set under “Settings -> Reading -> Front page displays” in WordPress?

What’s your website; what filmizlermisiniz is describing is correct if you’re using the “Static Front Page” option; if not, though, your front page should be showing your home description.

It’s a glitch in the new version.

If “use static front page” is disabled, the output for the home description will be your latest post. However, it does use the correct title and keywords from the plugin’s “Home Page Settings.”

If “use static front page” is enabled, it uses the WordPress settings for the site name and tagline, but shows BOTH the keywords and description from the latest post as opposed to the home page.

I have the same problem after the update.

I have a custom home page, and I set-up that page in index.php on my theme. The latest post are here.

In AIOS the settings doesn’t change after the update. So the title and description is there and “Use Static Front Page Instead” is disable.

I try the different scenario. I enable the static front page. I create a template page for home, set-up the reading settings to display the new home template and the latest post for post page. But then is something wrong with the pages. And nothing is shown.

So I want to use my old scenario. How do I get the description from the AIOS settings? Not the first Post description?

i’m using this addon since 6-7 months ago i noticed this problem recently after the update i think

Thanks for the reports; I’m now able to replicate this, it happens when latest posts is selected (which would be the Blog page showing up on the Front Page) and does not happen in the previous version of the plugin; I’ll see that this gets fixed, expect an updated bugfix release today.

yes varzo ro is right i amnot using “static front page” option ,too i think plugin has a mistake
