I’m afraid that’s not possible. You can customize the message itself, but the URL is provided by the WordPress.com app that posts to Facebook and cannot be removed at the moment.

I took note of your suggestion, though, and we’ll consider adding an option in a future Jetpack update. Thanks!

I tool would like to disable the link.

I want to write a function to disable the link part, can anyone give me any help achieving this?

    Thank you

@huntz Since the link is added by the Publicize app on WordPress.com servers, you won’t be able to disable the link yourself I’m afraid.

In “jetpack.me/support/publicize” it says the following:
    ——

Just publish the post as usual, and you’ll see it show up on the services you enabled.

If you want to opt out from any of the Publicize services for a specific post, just click the Publicize Edit link. You can then uncheck whichever services you want. You can also customize the message that gets sent by typing it in to the Custom Message box.

    ——
However, when I click on the Publicize Edit link, the Facebook box is unchecked, so I can’t very well uncheck it, can I? All my posts are automatically going to Facebook. The checkbox is grayed out, so I can’t check or uncheck. Please help. Thank you.

@trudy Hess If the checkbox is grayed out, that means your post has already been published. You consequently won’t be able to trigger Publicize again. If you check the Publicize details with a draft post, you should be able to check and uncheck the box.

Looks like this hasnt been removed yet. Anything new that we can do on our end?

@span Nothing new I’m afraid. As I mentioned earlier, the link is added by the Publicize app on WordPress.com servers. You won’t be able to disable the link yourself.
